From fundraising events and financial investment to specific programs to onsite volunteer activities, corporate partners help Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) day in and day out. Supporters like KB Home, DL Cohen, and Huron Components host annual golf tournaments to raise awareness and funds for our vital work. Other organizations volunteer onsite, make donations, participate in our Hope Starts Here fundraiser. And many organizations provide in-kind donations of their services, assemble birthday or toiletry kits, sponsor events like our annual Clays for Kids, or serve as ambassadors for DCAC.
“Corporate partners are essential because they provide the stability and reach needed to maintain and expand our trauma-informed services for children and their families,” said Cori Harris, DCAC Development Associate. “Beyond funding, these partnerships amplify our prevention message throughout the community and often include volunteer support and in-kind donations that directly enhance our capacity to serve more children effectively.”

Maintaining and Enhancing the DCAC Campus
One way our corporate partners help is by completing campus maintenance projects that DCAC otherwise would likely not be able to undertake.
“Corporate partners have been essential in maintaining DCAC’s beautiful campus as a clean, welcome place for children and families,” said Zach Carlson, DCAC Director of Finance and Operations. “Year-round corporate groups have helped with campus projects ranging from outside cleanup, interior painting, supply organization and holiday decorating. Our campus would not be the same without their efforts!”
A recent example is when Colorado Young Credit Union Professionals filled our campus with Christmas cheer by decorating for the holidays. Early in the year, they helped give our facility a deep clean.

“We are so thankful for companies like theirs that help keep our space welcoming for the families we serve,” said Marlen Montanez, DCAC Intake Manager/Community Mental Health Coordinator.
International Facilities Managers (IFMA) Denver Chapter members spent a few days on campus earlier this year replacing the flooring in a few of the offices (with Palace Construction leading the charge), fixing siding and shingles, and repairing the front porch on the treatment house. They also did some painting and landscaping throughout our campus.
“It is exciting to see the energy that corporate partners bring to their volunteer work and the great impact that is made when children and families are able to enjoy our camps spaces,” Zach said.
Making a Difference Through Donations and Kits
Volunteering on campus is not always possible or the best fit for organizations. DCAC is fortunate to have the support of many corporate partners that donate items and assemble kits for our clients.
Recent examples of this include:
- Hagerty Insurance Agency donated all the candy for the youth Halloween party and provided Christmas gifts for children receiving treatment from DCAC. “They thoughtfully wrapped each present and assembled personalized gift bags, ensuring every child feels special,” Marlen said. “Their commitment truly makes a difference.”
- Home | Ricca Design Studios did a food donation drive for DCAC families. “Their team heard about our efforts to support families that have faced food insecurity, and they decided to do a food donation drive,” Marlen said.
- Digible Marketing Agency – Fiona Forward assembled snack packs for treatment clients and overnight care bags for children and families.
- International Facilities Managers (IFMA) Denver Chapter held a toy donation drive and assembled overnight care kits.
- Through Project Our Town, volunteers assembled birthday kits to help make our clients’ days a little brighter with cake and party supplies.

“When businesses invest in our mission, they help create a community-wide commitment to child safety and demonstrate that protecting vulnerable children requires all sectors working together,” Cori said.

Customizing Corporate Engagement
DCAC works closely with corporate partners to customize opportunities that fit their needs and interests. We are fortunate to have organizations like SM Energy contribute in a multitude of ways. SM Energy sponsors our prevention program, Denver Safe from the Start, participates in onsite volunteer opportunities, and provides sponsorships for DCAC events throughout the year.

“I am most excited to work with companies that bring their own unique strengths and creativity to furthering our mission,” Cori said. “Having a custom partnership design model allows us to be flexible in our approach and build a true partnership with companies in our community whose values align with our goal to help children and families in Denver truly thrive. I can’t wait to see the way these partnerships have a positive impact on our clients and services at DCAC and on the culture of the teams who support us with their generosity.”
