April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.

A time to come together, raise awareness, and take action for children and families in our community.

This April, you can be part of the impact, helping expand prevention, support healing, and bring new voices into this work.

Ways you can help:

  • Wear blue. Share a photo of you and your friends wearing blue to stand in solidarity with children who have been abused. Tag us and use #WearBlueDay2026 to join a wave of support.
  • Spread the word. All month long, we will share stories about the work we do to prevent child abuse. Share, like, comment on social media, and share information with your network.
  • Join Hope Starts Here and invite your network to give. April is also your chance to help raise critical funds for the work we do. It’s easy! Even if you’ve never done a fundraiser before, just setting up a page and sharing helps draw attention to DCAC and the service we provide to the community.
  • Make a donation or better yet – become a monthly donor and join our Impact Circle.

Hope Starts Here is Denver Children’s Advocacy Center’s community fundraising campaign, where individuals, teams, and companies come together to raise money and awareness for children healing from abuse.

Instead of a race or event, participants simply create a personal fundraising page, set a goal, and invite their networks to give. Every dollar raised directly supports DCAC’s critical services including therapy, forensic interviews, and family advocacy, helping children and families in our community move from trauma toward safety, hope, and healing.

Hope Starts Here Toolkit

The Hope Starts Here Toolkit has information about setting up your personal or team fundraising page, qualifying for Swing for Hope, social media and email messages you can share with friends and family, and a timeline for reaching out to your network and fundraising the month of April.

Swing for Hope brings together our Hope Starts Here fundraisers, supporters, and staff to honor the strides we’ve made in supporting child abuse prevention. The event will include an award ceremony, happy hour drinks, two hours of Topgolf play, and a delicious catered buffet dinner.
