Melanie Barron

Bilingual Family Advocate

Melanie Barron is a recent graduate from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. Throughout her career, Melanie has worked with children from infancy through age seven in daycare and preschool settings, where she developed a strong understanding of child development and the importance of creating safe, nurturing environments that support families and their children’s growth. Melanie joined Denver Children’s Advocacy Center as a Bilingual Family Advocate Intern in July 2025 to expand her knowledge and experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Through her role, she’s gained valuable experience in trauma-informed care, advocacy, and connecting families with resources that promote healing during difficult times. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is passionate about building meaningful connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds and helping bridge language barriers, so families feel heard, understood, and supported. Her cultural experiences continue to shape her approach to advocacy and strengthen her commitment to serving families with empathy, respect, and compassion. Melanie is dedicated and passionate about providing children and their families with the support they need during emotionally challenging situations. She is honored to serve her diverse community and contribute to DCAC’s mission by providing compassionate, family-centered support that empowers children and families, and promotes healing.
