Tis the season for giving. At DCAC, we are continually amazed at the generosity of our community members. From regular donations to gifts in-kind, and from corporate giving to small acts of kindness, every gesture makes a monumental difference.
One of the ways in which your generosity can come with a possible tax benefit is through the Colorado Childcare Contribution Credit (CCCCC). For every $1 you donate to our early childhood and mental health training programs, you may qualify for the CCCCC, which could amount to up to 70¢ back in tax credit.

What is the Childcare Contribution Credit?
Created to spur more private support for child care programs throughout the state, the CCCCC allows for up to a 50% credit on your state income taxes for all qualifying monetary contributions of $250 or more (up to a total of $100,000). To qualify, donations must be made by an individual, estate, trust, or corporation. Donations of stock, property, or gift-in-kind contributions do not qualify for the credit. In addition to the state income benefits, the reminder of the qualified donation is still deductible on your federal income tax return.

How Donations that Qualify for CCCCC Make a Difference at DCAC
Donations to our early childhood and mental health training programs qualify for the state tax credit. We provide a range of trainings that fall into early childhood mental health, including: Trauma-Informed Care Training, Social–Emotional Development Training, Positive Behavior Support & Classroom Strategies, Caregiver & Teacher Coaching, and Prevention Education & Child Safety Programming.
“This program is essential because it supports DCAC’s mission from every angle—preventing abuse, strengthening families, reducing risk factors, expanding community knowledge, and nurturing safe, stable, supportive environments for children,” said Christa Summers, DCAC
Community Outreach Director. “It ensures children get what they need before trauma occurs and helps the adults around them respond with empathy, skill, and awareness.”
During 2024, DCAC provided 49 trainings, which included those listed above as well as additional trainings, to 949 participants.
When asked what they enjoy most about early childhood mental health training, staff shared:
- ” I love watching the ‘aha’ moments happen for adults who care for young children. Early childhood mental health training gives me the chance to help caregivers understand why a child is struggling, and suddenly the behavior makes sense. Seeing adults shift from frustration to empathy is powerful—it changes the way they show up for kids, and that positive ripple effect is the most rewarding part for me.” – Christa Summers, DCAC Community Outreach Director.
- Being able to work with children, teachers, and families and providing them with resources to better their child’s mental health. I also enjoy educating and talking with parents and teachers on the importance of early childhood mental health and the profound impact it has on children’s overall wellbeing. I also cherish the ability to form connections with parents, and they feel comfortable working alongside me to help their child. It’s an amazing feeling when parents provide you with updates on how great their child is doing and want to continue to get more help and resources once they see their child thrive.” – Yovana Perez, DCAC Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant
