Lauren joined DCAC in 2022 as a Child and Family Therapist. She received a Master’s in Marital and Family Therapy (MFT) from the University of San Diego, where she also received a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. During her undergraduate studies, she co-founded a storytelling program on her college campus in which she trained San Diego community members to write and share their stories. Between college and graduate school, she worked with students at Arrupe Jesuit High School’s Corporate Work Study Program, where she helped address behavioral challenges. As an MFT Trainee, she worked at Fr. Joe’s Villages in downtown San Diego with families experiencing homelessness, sexual abuse, and severe trauma. There, she utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to address the needs of those families.
Lauren believes each person has a unique and important story to tell and that doing so can help us heal. She looks forward to walking alongside the families at DCAC and doing that therapeutic work together.
