National Child Abuse Prevention Month
presented by SM Energy
Imagine the possibilities of children who are able to follow their dreams!
Children are born with infinite possibilities.
They can grow up to be doctors, engineers, police officers, artists - whatever they dream to be! But, if a child is subject to sexual or physical abuse - the trauma interferes with brain development and the child's capacity to think, act, behave and feel.
Untreated child abuse can derail dreams before kids even get to kindergarten.
Children's brains develop rapidly between the ages of 0 to 5 and their experiences lay the foundation for future success. Every dollar spent on high-quality, birth-to-five programs for disadvantaged children delivers a 13% per annum return on investment. DCAC's community outreach mental health initiative...
is reaching vulnerable families before abuse can damage children's developing brains. Early intervention helps children succeed and society realizes savings through reduced spending for remedial K-12 education, unemployment, criminal justice, welfare and teen pregnancy. All of us are impacted if children's potential isn't unlocked.
During Child Abuse Prevention Month, you can double the impact of your investment in early childhood intervention through a generous challenge grant from the Piton Foundation. Every donation, up to a total of $35,000, will be matched by the Piton Foundation, which shares our mission to improve the lives of Colorado's low-income children and families.
Please make a gift today for Child Abuse Prevention Month sponsored by SM Energy. By doubling the impact of your investment in early childhood, you offer kids infinite possibilities to achieve their dreams.
