Macee obtained her Master’s of Science from San Diego State University in Child Development with a concentration in Early Childhood Mental Health, and graduated from Notre Dame de Namur University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Macee interned at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA, where she was able to apply a trauma-focused lens while working with children ages 0-5. After graduating from SDSU, she had the opportunity to gain experience as a counselor/facility manager at a residential eating disorder recovery center, where she focused on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, specifically in the group setting. Prior to starting her journey at DCAC in early 2021, she worked as a therapist at a non-profit, out-patient mental health facility in Chula Vista, CA. Macee saw children ages 5-17 with moderate-high risk needs, and was able to implement different techniques as well as work with a diverse population. As a Colorado native, she is excited to be back in her home state and work within her community and continue to gain experience and pursue her passions.
