DCAC’s Internship Program benefits from the passion, commitment, and willingness to learn of graduate and undergraduate students from throughout the Denver metro area.
In return, we offer students the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in their chosen field.
Clinical Interns - Graduate Level
DCAC provides a unique and valuable training experience for students majoring in psychology, social work, counseling, and related disciplines. We welcome master level students to work under the supervision of our licensed mental health professionals. Masters students provide assessments and therapeutic services to children age 0-18 and their families, who have been exposed to potentially traumatizing experiences such as abuse, neglect, and violence.
Our internships are designed to enhance the student’s knowledge of current, researched-based interventions; refinement of clinical skills; treatment planning and case conceptualization; and the fostering of their professional identity.

Prevention Team Interns - Undergraduate Level
Bachelor level interns provide prevention services to children in Denver Public Schools. The focus of this internship position is to facilitate in-class lessons on personal safety to children ages 3-11. These lessons will teach children essential, self-protective skills to keep them from potentially abusive situations.
When not presenting in classrooms, bachelor level interns have the opportunity to provide support to child victims of crime and to non-offending family members, and to provide a range of services in the treatment of child abuse, neglect, and trauma.
