DCAC’s Internship Program benefits from the passion, commitment and willingness to learn of doctoral, masters and undergraduate students from throughout the Denver metro area.
In return, we offer the opportunity for students to gain valuable hands-on experience in their chosen field and – especially in the case of students pursuing bachelor’s degrees – a chance to learn about employment paths they had not previously considered.
DCAC provides a unique and valuable training experience for students majoring in psychology, social work, counseling and related disciplines. We welcome masters and 2nd and 3rd year doctorate level students to work under the supervision of our highly qualified and experienced licensed mental health professionals. Master’s and doctoral students provide assessments and therapeutic services to children age 0-18 and their families, who have been exposed to potentially traumatized experiences such as abuse, violence and traumatic loss.
The training opportunities are designed to enhance the students’ knowledge of current researched based interventions, refinement of clinical skills, treatment planning and case conceptualization and the fostering of their professional identity.
All internship positions for the 2016/2017 academic year and summer of 2017 are filled. We are currently taking applications for the fall of 2017. If you have any questions, please call 303-825-3850.
The internship focuses on all aspects of internal accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant revenue recognition and reporting, financial reporting, and organizational management. You will be supervised by the Director of Finance & Operations who is a Certified Public Accountant with eight years of public accounting practice experience at a large local CPA firm. In addition, you will gain great exposure to a sophisticated Finance Committee and Board of Directors, while gaining a wide-range of knowledge in a rapidly growing industry.
Undergraduate students from a wide variety of disciplines are invited to participate in a more general internship experience that includes managing the front desks of the Treatment and Forensic Interview houses, welcoming families to DCAC and supporting the victim advocates, engaging the children, and providing administrative support. We are not taking applications for Victim Advocacy internships at this time. Please email MParman@DenverCAC.org if you have any questions. Thank you!
