The Child and Adolescent Assessment and Treatment Program serves children ages 1-17 who have been sexually abused, neglected or traumatized by witnessing violence. DCAC uses a trauma-informed approach to integrated health and mental health care by which professionals are able to determine the strengths and vulnerabilities of a given child and his or her family, and create individualized intervention, enrichment and educational plans. Intensive, integrated care management draws on all the people involved in the child's life - family members, foster parents, social service caseworkers, day care providers, prosecutors, victim advocates, medical doctors, teachers and school personnel. By working together as an integrated team we are able to help children heal more effectively.
